But unlike travel bloggers or influencers, we’re not professionals, and we’re not doing this for income. That means you’ll never find those annoying ads on our site—just real, slow travel experiences shared by two people who love exploring at their own pace.
We’re also not photographers; every photo you see here is taken on our phones, capturing moments as they happen. For us, travel isn’t about creating picture-perfect content; it’s about the experience itself.
Over time, our love for slow, meaningful travel led us to ask ourselves: What if we didn’t just visit places, but truly lived them?
That question sparked a life-changing decision. Instead of simply passing through, we wanted to create a life centered around exploration, using Spain as our home base. From Michelin-starred dining to hidden villages off the beaten path, we’re excited to share our experiences, tips, and stories with fellow travelers who seek something deeper than the typical tourist journey.
After decades of hard work—one of us as a high school math teacher for over 30 years and the other as a program director helping San Francisco residents build careers in the construction trades—we’re embracing a new adventure: retirement in Spain.
Travel has always been at the heart of our lives, and as we prepare for our move in 2026, we can’t wait to immerse ourselves in our new home, explore Spain’s diverse landscapes, and venture across Europe. This next chapter is about discovery, connection, and fully embracing everything life has to offer.

Our Journey to Moving to Spain
We've always dreamed of buying property and embracing a new way of life. After two trips and our second hike on El Camino de Santiago, we realized that a place along this historic pilgrimage route was where we wanted to retire and bring our dreams to life. In our quest to find the perfect region of Spain to call home, we fell in love with La Maragatería.
This charming area, nestled along the Camino de Santiago, captivated us not just for its historic significance but also for the warmth of its community and the friends we have made along the way.
From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with open arms. The locals quickly became our friends. The sense of community in La Maragatería has been an unexpected joy.
